Privacy Policy

Your privacy is critically important to us.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting personally‑identifiable information you may provide to us through our website, or which we obtain when you visit our website. This privacy policy applies to cloudcarpenter.com (hereinafter, "us", "we", or "cloudcarpenter.com") and to all websites that run on our proprietary web‑hosting platform. We have adopted this privacy policy to explain what information may be collected on our websites, how we use this information, and under what circumstances we may disclose the information to third parties. This privacy policy applies only to information we collect through our own websites and does not apply to information collected by our clients through their websites.

Data Roles and Responsibilities

CloudCarpenter collects and uses personal information only for the purpose of providing website‑building and hosting services to our clients. For this information, we act as the data controller.

Some websites built on our platform may allow their own users to create accounts or submit personal information (such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses). In these cases, CloudCarpenter acts solely as a service provider processing data on behalf of the website owner. We do not access, use, analyze, or disclose this end‑user data except as necessary to operate the website and maintain the hosting environment. Website owners are responsible for providing their own privacy policies describing how they collect and use information from their users.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, CloudCarpenter collects non‑personally‑identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting non‑personally‑identifying information is to better understand how our visitors use our websites. We may occasionally release non‑personally‑identifying information in aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of our websites.

We also collect potentially personally‑identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. We do not disclose this information to any other party.

Gathering of Additional Personally‑Identifying Information

Certain visitors to CloudCarpenter’s websites choose to interact with us in ways that require us to gather additional personally‑identifying information. The amount and type of information that we gather depends on the nature of the interaction, but it generally applies only to our clients. For example, our clients must create a user account, thereby providing us with their name, email address, and other details necessary for account management. We do not share this information with any other party, nor do we use the information for advertising or for any purpose other than maintaining the user’s account.

Some websites built on our platform may collect additional information from their own users. This information is collected by the website owner, not by CloudCarpenter. While this data may pass through our servers as part of normal website operation, we do not use, analyze, or disclose it for any purpose.

Access to Client Data

CloudCarpenter does not access the content of client websites or user accounts except when necessary to provide technical support, maintain system security, or comply with legal obligations. Any such access is limited to the minimum required to perform these functions.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Links to External Sites

Our websites may contain links to external sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third‑party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy and terms and conditions of every site you visit.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third‑party sites, products, or services.

Aggregated Statistics

CloudCarpenter may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. We may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, we will not disclose personally‑identifying information.

Cookies

To enrich and perfect your online experience, CloudCarpenter uses “cookies” and similar technologies to operate our websites, maintain user sessions, and understand usage patterns. We do not use cookies for advertising purposes.

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. We use cookies to help us identify and track visitors, their usage of our website, and their website access preferences. Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using our websites, with the drawback that certain features of our websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

By continuing to navigate our website without changing your cookie settings, you hereby acknowledge and agree to our use of cookies.

Google Workspace Connectivity

Some of our websites are connected to our clients’ Google Workspace accounts for email and user management. If a CloudCarpenter website is connected to Google Workspace, the SiteMasters of that website will have access to create, edit, and delete email accounts ("Users") and email groups ("Groups"). Individual users of the website may be able to add themselves to or remove themselves from specific email groups, depending on the permission settings of the email group as determined by the admins of the website. The owners of the Google Workspace account retain independent control of Google Workspace outside their website and can remove the connection between their website and Google Workspace at any time. We do not manipulate anything on our clients’ Google Workspace accounts without their express permission, and generally do so only when explicitly requested.

Client Responsibility for End‑User Data

Website owners are responsible for complying with all applicable privacy laws regarding the collection and use of personal information from their users. CloudCarpenter does not control, monitor, or determine the purposes for which website owners collect or use such information.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, CloudCarpenter may change this privacy policy occasionally and at our sole discretion. We encourage visitors to frequently check this page for any changes. Your continued use of this site after any change in this policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
